Privacy Statement

Information Privacy and YouAs the national trade association for private home, car and business insurers in Canada and the appointed statistical agent for the insurance regulators in most of the provinces and territories, IBC has accumulated a great deal of data, some of which can be considered to be personal information.

The protection of individual privacy is an IBC priority and applies to both:

 

  1. Information that IBC collects directly from individuals; and
  2. Information under IBC's custody that is reported to IBC by various insurance entities – insurers, brokers and others.

Therefore, IBC has adopted a comprehensive management plan that addresses all aspects of information privacy and security, including accountability, authorization, data collection, usage and disclosure. For more information on IBC's privacy policy please click here.

Website Usage Data

IBC automatically collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and website usage information on all visitors to the website. This information helps in analyzing the traffic and refining and optimizing the site design. This information is not disclosed outside IBC.
